Tragedy struck in Awka, Anambra State, on Monday night as Dr. Fabian Osita, a lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), was fatally shot by suspected carjackers.
According to the university’s Chief Security Officer, Ken Chukwurah, the incident occurred around 7:30 pm during an attempted car theft. He remarked, “The university community is deeply saddened by this devastating loss.”The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the incident and has launched an investigation to apprehend the culprits. Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed that the stolen vehicle, a 2006 ash-colored Toyota Corolla with Enugu registration plates, is still missing.
