The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) offers financial support to students from Northern Nigeria by awarding scholarships to 200 students in public universities and polytechnics annually.

Scholarship Overview

Covers one academic session.

Renewal is based on academic performance:

University students must maintain at least a Second Class Lower Division.

Polytechnic students need an Upper Credit.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

Be newly admitted 100-level (UTME) or 200-level (Direct Entry) students in a university, or HND 1 students in a polytechnic for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Be enrolled in a science or technology course at a public institution.

Meet their institution’s requirements for full-time students.

Have five O’Level credits (including English and Mathematics) in no more than two sittings.

Be a native of a Northern Nigerian state or the Federal Capital Territory (proof required).

Be 25 years old or younger at the time of admission.

Scholarships are not guaranteed and will be awarded based on selection rankings.

Providing false information will result in disqualification.

Screening Requirements

Shortlisted candidates must attend a screening with original copies of the following:

Three passport photos (2×2 inches).

Certificate of State of Origin.

Birth Certificate (from NPC).

JAMB result slip.

JAMB and Institution Admission Letter.

Proof of school fees payment and department registration.

Valid student ID card.

WAEC/NECO result or certificate.

Latest semester results.

Contact details (email and phone).

Reference letter from a community leader.

Completed Parent/Guardian Attestation Letter.

Next of kin contact details (email and phone).

Interested students should apply before the deadline to be considered.
