Achievers University, Owo, has appointed Mr. Adebayo Olagunju as the Acting Registrar, effective 17th February 2025. This appointment follows the completion of the tenure of the former Registrar, Rev. Canon Bayode Oladimeji, who has commenced his end-of-tenure leave after a successful five-year term.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Omolola Irinoye, announced the appointment in a statement on 11th February 2025, confirming that the University Council had directed Mr. Olagunju to assume the role of Acting Registrar until a permanent appointment is made.

Mr. Olagunju has been with Achievers University since 2nd May 2008, when he joined as Senior Assistant Registrar (Media)/Public Relations Officer (PRO) shortly after the University began academic operations. Over the years, he has held various key positions, including Senior Assistant Registrar/College Secretary of the College of Social and Management Sciences (COSMAS) and Principal Assistant Registrar/Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies. In 2019, he was transferred to the University’s main Registry, and in October 2020, he was promoted to Deputy Registrar.

Before joining the University, Mr. Olagunju served in the Federal Civil Service, where he was assigned to the Nigerian Air Force and taught at the Air Force Secondary School in Ikeja, Lagos. He also worked at Tell Communications Limited, publishers of Tell magazine, where he rose to the position of Head of the Copy Desk.

Mr. Olagunju holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education) in Language Arts (English) from the University of Ilorin (1987–1991), a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos (1992–1993), and a Master of Science in Mass Communication (Public Relations) from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State (2011–2013). He is also an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
